This is a place of real beauty during the day (it sits at the foot of Ben Lomond on the shores of Loch Lomond), and is a location that holds a lot of nice memories for me, being a place I have being going to since I was a child.

It is so familiar during the day, but I wanted to show it in a different light, in a way that not many people will have seen it. I knew that the loch and surrounding hills are beautiful in the twilight so I thought the memorial and surrounding trees would make a lovely foreground.

As I wanted a new Painting With Light challenge then this was perfect for me. Sitting in the forest waiting for the night to get dark enough was a lovely, peaceful experience :)
